At Select Specialty/Regency Hospital, a division of Select Medical, our licensed acute care specialty hospital cares for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. As a hospital within a hospital (our host hospital is SSM St. Joseph’s Hospital), our nurses and patients have 24-hour-a-day access to lab, radiology, cardiology, interventional radiology, GI lab, and ORs! Our patient ages start at 18 and go up.

We are currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team. Graduate nurses are also encouraged to apply.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will ensure the nursing care plan is being followed. You'll work alongside Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapists, Rehabilitation Specialists and Certified Nursing Assistants, in a collaborative environment to ensure the plan of care for each patient is implemented.

After 1 year of employment, you will be eligible for a Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). If accepted, Select will pay tuition for RN to BSN or BSN to MSN. This program also has a quarterly financial reward once you have accomplished Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
Experience requirements
• Experience in critical care, step-down, or intermediate care or medical surgical care of patients is a plus.

Other requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) role include:
• Valid RN Registered Nurse license in state of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.
• Positive, caring, and customer-service oriented attitude.
• Receiving admissions and/or transfers to the unit
• Interpreting assessment/diagnostic data including labs, telemetry
• Ensuring medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately
• Demonstrating competence in Rapid Response and code events
• Promoting continuous quality improvement
• Teaching and counseling patients/families
• Initial and on-going systematic patient assessment
• Timely and accurate documentation
• Skills in handling emergency and life-threatening situations
Work hours
• You'll work (3) 12-hour shifts, with the ability to pick up extra shifts.
• Ask about our new and exciting weekend program! The nurses chosen for this program would work either every Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday, either 7am-7pm or 7pm-am. For the rest of the RN staff, it will change their weekend requirements from what is presently every other weekend, to every 3rd weekend.
